Kolonel was launched in Oct 2021 by Shefalee Lucknauth and Preni Lilkunt (Chef Nik) who are both co-founders and siblings, living in the eastern region of Mauritius, in Mare La Chaux. Both left their jobs in 5 star hotels (LUX Collectives/Salf of Palmar) in 2021 to pursue their dream of having their own Pizzeria. In just one month of operation, the pizzeria created buzz on facebook and won the Peoples’ Choice Awards Mauritius 2021 in the category of Pizzeria. The pizzeria offers great variety of Italian foods (some unique in Mauritius) for both veg and non-veg which are as follows: • Pizza: Quatre Fromages, Focaccia, Black Truffle, Seafood Medley (with Mussel, Tiger Prawns & Calamari), Creamy Chicken & Lamb • Pide Sauteed Veg, Creamy Chicken/Lamb and Seafood • Calzone Sauteed Veg, Chicken & Lamb • Pasta (Tagliatelle) – Al Pesto, Stir Fried Chicken or Seafood, Truffle Cream Sauce • Snacks – Sticky Chicken, Calamari Rings, Mozarella Sticks The success of restaurant is based on various factors which are as follows: (a) It cultivate herbs in own bio farm which are freshly used for the preparation of the food. (e) Strategically located on the way connecting Central Flacq and the coastal beaches such as Belle Mare, Palmar and Trou D’Eau Douce.
