Konstrundan is Finland’s annual open studio event, inviting the public into the creative spaces of professional artists, craftspeople, designers, and art residencies across the country. Taking place every September, this nationwide initiative creates direct encounters between artists and audiences, promoting contemporary art, design, and craft in a welcoming, accessible way.
Each year, participants showcase their work, build networks, and engage in dialogue with visitors, including the opportunity for direct sales and long-term connections. In 2024, over 410 creatives took part, drawing a record-breaking 28,000+ visitors across Finland.
Konstrundan began in 2008 as part of the Swedish Cultural Foundation’s centennial celebration. Initially a Swedish-language initiative with just over 80 open studios along the coast and Åland, the event has since grown into a nationwide, multilingual celebration of artistic expression.
Konstrundan is organised by Kulturförening Grand rf, with main funding from Svenska Kulturfonden, Konstsamfundet, and Brita Maria Renlunds stiftelse.
