'Koonara' is the name of Dru and Nicole Reschke’s property in Coonawarra which has been in the Reschke family for over 100 years.
Our family vineyards are chemical-free, and we only use organic elements on our vines - not only because they are safer for our family - but it helps build complexity in our grapes. We were the first vineyards in Coonawarra to be Certified to Australian Organic Standards.
We let selected native flowers grow long in our vineyards to attract good bugs which eat our bad bugs, so we have no need for pesticides - we have not used any herbicides or pesticides for over 10 years.
We are creating high quality wines which have below organic levels of sulphur, no residual sugar, are vegan friendly, no oak substitutes, and are aged in 100% fine-grain French Oak Hogsheads barrels.
Our wines are available in amazing independent bottleshops and restaurants, across Australia. If our wine is not in your local bottleshop – ask them to get it!
