Kosis Enterprises is a social enterprise that works at the ground level to promote gender equality, women empowerment and youth participation through awareness, advocacy and entrepreneurship . The major project we are working now is Rural Entrepreneurship Project. The idea of our project is to empower rural communities including women and marginalized through financial independence. To do so, the project plan to utilize locally available/produced resources for promoting entrepreneurship at local level thereby increasing employment opportunities. Also the project aims to tackle social problems like gender based violence and racial discrimination by empowering the vulnerable groups not just financially but also with knowledge, skills and support network. The working model of project is to initially provide skill development training based on resources available at community. And after training, support them technically to set up their own self sustainable business either in group or individually and partner with them in branding and marketing of the products. Also for better financial management and decision making, we plan to provide financial literacy classes and other empowerment activities. In this way, the project aims to contribute for promoting socio-economic empowerment of rural communities by involving local people and local resources ensuring sustainability.
