Summary – Medical-device startup Kosmo Technologies is applying innovative technology to improve the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Our Airway Optimizer test of upper airway resistance will be used by over ten thousand dentists to speed and simplify Oral Appliance (OA) therapy, the rapidly growing alternative to Positive Airway Pressure (PAP or CPAP) ventilation. At the first visit, the dentist uses our non-invasive Point-of-care test to determine the oral appliance settings that will open the airway for a night of safe and restful sleep. After entering this dental market, we will adapt our platform to screen for OSA. In the hands of primary care practitioners, our device should economically identify those who are most in need of a full sleep study workup for OSA.
