Biochemically speaking, there is every reason to believe that what we put in our mouths can affect the body and its hormonal systems in many different ways. But individual stories cannot be used as a basis for treatments in healthcare. The recommendations that doctors give must be based on solid science. Unfortunately, nutrition research lacks commercial interest; it is not possible to patent broccoli or any special diet. The scientific studies that are carried out in the field of nutrition therefore often lack resources, which means that they often are too small and short-term. Therefore, they rarely change care. This is where the Dietary Science Foundation comes into the picture. To drive development forward, we raise funds for high-quality studies that can explore the healing effects that many people experience after changing their diet. Our goal is to establish more effective dietary treatments in healthcare.
