Kovo App Overview

We believe that people aren’t connecting the way that they used to. With all the different types of social media, you could have thousands of “friends” without really having connected with any of them at a human level. At Kovo we’re all about the face-to-face, so we connect you with 2 other people, based on availability and interests, to have real-life conversations. Between all of our responsibilities and commitments to various groups, we know it’s hard to carve out time to intentionally strike out and meet new people. But Duke is full of extraordinary people worth meeting, so we want to make it easier to connect with the rest of the Duke Community. We do our best to suggest somewhere quiet that you can sit down and have a conversation. We also know that you’re a busy person, and we respect that, so we identify a location on campus that is convenient for all 3 people placed into a conversation, usually a place that’s somewhere in the middle and roughly the same distance for all 3 people. We chose groups of 3 because 3 people means more opinions, experiences, and insights than a 1-on-1 while still allowing for an intimate and open conversation. We’re also NOT a dating service, and we’d hate for one of our conversations to accidentally turn into an awkward date. Once you’ve decided to step out of your comfort zone and meet some new people, open up the app and take the first step to a bolder you and start a conversation. We’ll let you know as soon as we find 2 other people that are free when you are and share an interest in one of the topics you liked, and we’ll find you a nearby location that the three of you can meet up.
