Khulna Polytechnic Institute, abbreviated as KPI, is one of the most prestigious institutions for mid-level studies in the south of the country. About 3800 students are pursuing Diploma studies in engineering at this institution. At present, KPI has 8 teaching departments. Every year the intake of Diploma students is around 700. A total of about one hundred teachers are teaching in these departments and institutes. The KPI campus is in the heart of the Khalishpur industrial area in Khulna city – one of the divisional headquarters of Bangladesh. It has a compact campus with halls of residence within walking distance of the academic buildings. Khulna Polytechnic Institute operates under the executive control of the ministry of education, the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh acting through the Directorate of Technical Education. The academic programs, however, function under the regulation of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Dhaka -1215. From its humble beginning in 1963 as KPI has expanded its frontiers in various fields of engineering and technology such as Civil, Power, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Environmental, and Instrumentation Process Control. KPI strives toward excellence through the practice of high-quality culture in teaching and training.
