In 2014, François Cazor and Jean Maynier founded Kpler with a vision to make commodity trading transparent, more efficient and sustainable.

KV’s first investment was Spark Commodities (Spark) in 2019, a Singapore-based joint venture with EEX (part of the Deutsche Börse Group) focused on redefining how commodity prices are understood. Spark has also attracted investment from ICE, a strong validation of an early stage business with huge growth potential in a critical part of the energy ecosystem.
