Late Mr Krishan Kant was a man of great distinction who dedicated his life to serving India. He began his journey of service at the age of 15 when he actively participated in the Quit India Movement. After India's Independence, he worked as a Scientist at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Mr. Kant was a member of the Indian Parliament for several years, first as a Member of the Rajya Sabha (1966-77) and later as a Member of the Lok Sabha (1977-80). He also served as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh (1990-97) and Tamil Nadu (1996-97), making him the longest-serving governor of his time. In 1997, Mr. Kant was appointed as the Tenth Vice President of India, a position he held until his passing in office in 2002. Throughout his life, he demonstrated a strong commitment to the development and progress of India. His contributions continue to inspire generations of Indians to serve the country. Founded by his grandson - Mr. Gaurav Kant, The Krishan Kant Foundation’s primary current goals are: 1. Contributing to the well-being of India’s defence veterans’ post-retirement 2. Supporting the education and well-being of underprivileged children
