Krishna Wellness Yoga and Cultural Centre was set up in January 2014 by Ms. Mimi Partha Sarathy to promote the rich heritage of Yoga, Indian Art and Culture.
Our centre is one of the leading Yoga Schools in Bangalore, blessed with ancient trees and nature, known for its Holistic and Integrated Yoga Classes and Programs, Pranayama and Meditation classes, and Anti-Gravity Fitness Training, which are conducted daily.
Yoga beyond Asanas - Today, everyone talks of Yoga, but we think largely in terms of Asanas, or physical postures. This reflects a limited understanding that does not even come close to the essence of Yoga.
What then is Yoga?
Yoga in Sanskrit literally means union, when body and mind come together as one, where we experience total harmony.
How can we simplify this for our daily use?
So we went back to the primordial root of our ancient wisdom. In the Bhagavat Gita, Lord Krishna defines Yoga as Samatvam Yogam Uchyate - a state of balance & equanimity. Of body & mind, of thought & intellect, of feelings & emotions. Yoga is about maintaining mental equipoise in any situation.
At Sri Krishna Wellness Yoga Centre, we look at Yoga in a holistic manner. We call this Wisdom in Wellness. Therefore, our practice of Yoga embraces all the ideas Lord Krishna presented in the Bhagavat Gita including Asanas, the discipline of breath, mindfulness, and the four-fold paths of Yoga – Dhyana, Karma, Jnana & Bhakti. This, we believe, is the most authentic representation of Yoga.
