In 1985 Ken Curry, President of KSC Consulting LLC, began his professional journey when he joined Cardone Industries as the Director of Facilities, overseeing 13 commercial properties in Philadelphia. In 2009, Ken encountered a major challenge when the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) introduced a new method for calculating stormwater charges. This change threatened to increase Cardone’s costs by $410,000 annually. Through meticulous research, Ken discovered the Customer Assistance Program that PWD offered to help mitigate the financial impact and limit the stormwater charge increase to 10% per year, providing some relief to those who were persistent in seeking solutions. Enrollment in this program ended in September 2013. Ken and his team worked closely with PWD to secure a $3.2 million grant and installed SW management on Cardone’s largest 67-acre site, earning 100% credits against the stormwater charge. In 2013, Ken accepted an offer to serve as COO for a Stormwater company that focused on securing grants to design and install SW management systems on commercial properties. Ken, passionate about helping others navigate the same challenges he had faced, dedicated himself to this role. From 2013 to 2021, Ken and his team secured $60 million in grants and installed SW management systems on more than 50 commercial properties in Philadelphia, saving property owners millions of dollars. In 2021, Ken founded KSC Consulting LLC, bringing with him over 12 years of specialized experience in Philadelphia’s Stormwater space. His expertise spans the full spectrum, from understanding the burdens faced by property owners to design, building, and maintaining SW management systems, all while securing significant cost-saving credits. Today, Ken is recognized as Philadelphia’s foremost authority in stormwater and its complex regulations.
