The General K.S. Thimayya Memorial Trust

The Trust pays tribute to the memory of General Kodandera Subayya Thimayya, Padma Bhushan, DSO, Chief of Army Staff (1957-1961), Cottonian (1918-22) by carrying out activities in support of institutions that the late General has been closely involved with, such as the Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, the Kumaon Regiment, the Army, the Armed Forces at large, and Kodagu District. The Trust organises its annual Lecture Series by inviting distinguished Old Cottonians to render a keynote address on a subject of public relevance. The underlying tribute is to Cotton's – alma mater to innumerable distinguished and loyal Old Boys. The Trust recognises former members of the teaching, administrative and support staff of the Cotton's, with a citation and a cheque for Rs. 1 Lakh each from its Benevolent Fund. Since the inception of the Fund, the Trust has handed out around Rs. 50 Lakh to deserving staff members.
