About Kubaru Microfinance

Kubaru is an online microlending platform enabling lenders to support entrpreneurs in post-disaster areas of the developing world. Kubaru operates a peer to peer website, allowing users to lend as little as £10 to enable borrowers to start and grow a business. The Kubaru website enables individuals in the UK to directly loan small amounts of money to entrepreneurs of their choice in the Philippines, where populations are regularly hit by typhoons, tropical storms and earthquakes, and Burkina Faso, still suffering from the severe Sahel-wide food crisis and 2009 West African floods. These peer-to-peer loans are used to start up or develop small businesses in sectors such as agriculture, transport and retail. Kubaru was founded by Ben Warren and Stephen Hall.
