About KU Leuven Additive Manufacturing - Campus De Nayer

The additive manufacturing group at campus De Nayer is led by Eleonora Ferraris, professor in manufacturing technologies at the KU Leuven, with the support of Ann Witvrouw, IOF manager. It is part of the department of mechanical engineering, KU Leuven, and it performs applied and basic research in the field of 3D printing for biomedical and mechatronic applications. The technological portfolio includes: Aerosol Jet® Printing (AJ®P) of functional inks for printed electronics and tissue engineering; Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) of polymer components and composites, including large scale printing and indirect printing of metal and ceramic parts; stereolithography. The group is also pioneer in the use of aerosol jet® printing of collagen for tissue engineering and its combination with printed electronics solutions towards the development of bioelectronics interfaces.
