Challenges related to mobility are changing rapidly due to e-commerce, working from home, limited (public) space, autonomous vehicles, transportation injustice, etc. Changes are not only driven by technological developments, but also societal developments and individual needs. Therefore, these challenges need to be addressed in an integrated way from all three perspectives.
LIM aims to tackle these interdisciplinary challenges by uniting KU Leuven’s diverse set of complementary expertise on mobility subjects. LIM not only establishes the connection between existing expertise, but also fosters the development of new research lines related to mobility.
LIM also acts as an intermediary between researchers and external stakeholders, such as (local) authorities, NGOs and industry. This enables LIM to discover the latest mobility challenges in society, to identify funding opportunities and to disseminate the research output of its members.
