Kunst ab Hinterhof

Kunst ab Hinterhof is a hybrid of an online shop and a showroom. The platform represents young artists and has set the goal of being approachable for newcomers as well as addressing already experienced collectors with a curated selection. The project impresses with a wide selection of prints and originals, which are exhibited online, as well as in a physical showroom. In addition to a transparent price policy, works from low to high price categories are also represented in order to make art not only more inclusive but also affordable for a large part of society. Kunst ab Hinterhof positions itself as uncomplicated and above all away from traditional white cube galleries. Further, the unconventional curation of the works - especially those produced by the artists represented on the platform - deserves special mentioning. The selected artists predominantly live and work in Vienna, but works by international artists are also increasingly being showroomed. The platform currently represents 220 artists with about 1200 pieces of work. The five-person team is led by Florian Appelt, the platform's curator, and Richard Petz, the platform development manager.
