Welcome to Kunstweekend 31. October - 2. november 2025. Vestlia Resort Geilo The theme will be art, innovation and migration 2025 is the 200th anniversary of migration and marks the first organized emigration from Norway to America. Many of those who emigrated left their mark. They started businesses such as Hilton Hotels, painted official portraits of American presidents and started art academies. Emigration and immigration still take place. Where Norwegians previously emigrated to America and other places in search of a better life, there are now others who immigrate to Norway to find freedom, security and new opportunities here. We will talk about the effect migration has on art, innovation and technology and innovative changes in art and the art trade. We invite you to a pleasant weekend where we build a bridge of knowledge between the past and present through art history. Listen to important and inspiring lectures, participate in the good conversation and enjoy good food and drink. Kunstweekend Geilo at Vestlia Resort was established in 2017 We want to inspire people to learn more about art. We are concerned with conveying knowledge in an easy-to-understand way, as well as reminding ourselves of the historical art. To participate, you don't need any prior knowledge, but maybe you want to learn something new. We promise an inspiring weekend and replenishment of cultural capital.
