Kvant NTNU

Kvant NTNU is a nonprofit organization working to increase interest among students for quantitative finance and algorithmic trading. Our goal is to develop automated trading systems for the Norwegian stock market. Traditional equity investment usually involves careful selection of single assets, where an investor acquires a lot of knowledge on a few companies. We want to automate this investment process by looking at hundreds of companies simultaneously using the processing power of today's computers. These computer programs will make decisions based on empiricism. In other words, we want to simulate how an investment strategy would work in the past and, with the help of this information, manage to take more informed investment decisions.
