Our Vision is to be a catalyst that empowers communities to be resilient, self-reliant, and sustainable. A sustainable community manages its human, natural and financial capital to meet current needs while ensuring that adequate resources are available for future generations. Sustainable communities are places where people want to live and work. They meet the diverse needs of existing and future residents, are sensitive to their environment, and contribute to a high quality of life. They are safe and inclusive, well planned, built and managed, and offer equal opportunity and good services for all. A resilient community can withstand, adapt to and recover from adversity. Community resilience is the sustained ability of a community to use available resources (energy, communication, transportation, food, etc.) to respond to, withstand and recover from adverse situations (e.g., economic collapse, natural disasters). An empowered community is an enabled community that have control over their lives. It means the community has the resources and talent to manage its affairs, to control and influence relevant groups and forces within and outside the community, and to develop empowered leaders and community organisations. Our Mission is to fund and support interventions aimed at improving the quality of life, and the quality of education & skills through collaboration with key stakeholders In our role as a catalyst, the Trust focuses on issues or systemic problems that stand in the way or prohibits our communities to become thriving, resilient, sustainable and empowered and we work collaboratively with others to achieve our vision and mission.
