We are an organic coffee company in rural Uganda. Our goal? To purchase coffee at fair trade prices from women in our community, to process that coffee in country, and to sell to our customers. With our approach to coffee production, we eliminate the middleman and protect the farmers in our community. Perhaps most importantly, the women in our community become empowered as we engage them in the coffee production process, teach them about the supply-chain, and engage them in village savings and loans groups. By supporting women in the community, families within the village improve dramatically. With the additional income that the women receive, they are able to invest in healthcare for their families, education for their children, and food for their tables. Furthermore, Kyaffe Farmers Coffee invests 5% of its profit back into community projects in order to improve food security, healthcare, and education in our surrounding villages.
