KyivPride

“KyivPride” as a non-governmental organization that has been contributing to the raising LGBT+ visibility since it was founded in 2016. Our goal is to promote full respect for human rights for LGBT+ people in Ukraine, to encourage an appreciation for these right by raising LGBT+ visibility and their participation in social processes. Before 2022, every year more and more members of LGBT+ community from the regions took part in KyivPride events and a number of volunteers help to hold the Equality March. KyivPride is the largest LGBT+ event and the most visible queer organization in Ukraine, which makes it the main media outlet on LGBT+ issues in the country. NGO KyivPride uses this opportunity to strengthen voices of the community and to raise issues and challenges which LGBT+ community in Ukraine facing. In 2022, after the russian invasion started, we added humanitarian work to our activities: we established a shelter for LGBT+ people in Kyiv, started a resocialization program, provided psychosocial support (online psychotherapy groups), help with accommodation abroad for Ukrainian refugees and financial support.
