TOUGH ENOUGH FOR THE JOB For three generations L. Townend has been manufacturing quality steel tipping bodies and auxiliary equipment. Bodies are continuous seam welded using MIG welding (low hydrogen) for improved weld reliability and strength in dedicated body jigs to ensure body alignment, accuracy and reliability. At Townends we take pride in our work and all of our bodies are manufactured to the highest specification using the finest low carbon steel. In addition to this L. Townend Ltd offer a range of bodies and ancillary equipment, including special products designed to meet specific operational requirements and increase vehicle utilisation or flexibility. The main objective with any project is to make sure that the body is fit for purpose. As every project will see a different set of challenges - whether as a result of an accident, just plain wear and tear or the manufacture of a bespoke body - our flexible approach enables us to respond to the individual client brief.
