We are an Italian family business of wine makers and farmers in Barbaresco, Piedmont for 5 generations. The family is now run by Pietropaolo Berutti, enologist and expert wine maker with the support of his father Gualtiero, who runs the vineyards. The family owns 20 hectars of vineyards in the town of Barbaresco devoted for Nebbiolo for Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Chardonnay and one single vineyard of 4 hectars in the town of Novello for the Nebbiolo for Barolo. The wines produced are: Langhe Chardonnay DOC, Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC, Barbaresco Secondine DOCG (new release), Barbaresco Bricco Faset DOCG, Barolo Bergera DOCG, Barolo Sorì Gepin DOCG. All the wines are 100% La Spinona made. The wines are available to be purchased directly at our winery in Barbaresco, Piedmont, or are distributed worldwide. La Spinona is a name associated with the land and originates from part of the family’s life history: the still-vivid memory of the dog, Baica, a Spinone Italiano. Along the path that led to the development of the winery, Baica is a symbol that still has pride of place on the company logo and, throughout the world, represents the history of a winery that makes high-quality wine through meticulous work and attention to nature, to obtain wines that are clean, elegant and unique.
