The Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini, today considered one of the most important symphony orchestras in Italy, was founded in Parma in 2002 as a continuation of the historical experience of the Orchestra dell’Emilia-Romagna Arturo Toscanini.
It has been conducted under many distinguished batons such as: Lorin Maazel, Georges Prêtre, Yuri Temirkanov, Mstislav Rostropovich, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta, Maxim Vengerov, Krystian Zimerman, Ton Koopman.
Among the artists of this Season: Daniele Gatti, Fabio Luisi, Emmanuel Pahud and Ray Chen.
Currently Alpesh Chauhan is the Principal Conductor.
Since 2012 the Filarmonica has also been an artistic partner of theVerdi Festival of Parma
La Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini nasce a Parma nel 2002 dall’esperienza dell’Orchestra dell'Emilia-Romagna Arturo Toscanini; è oggi considerata una tra le più importanti orchestre sinfoniche italiane.
Dalla sua fondazione ha collaborato con alcuni tra i più grandi direttori e solisti della scena internazionale, tra cui: Lorin Maazel, Georges Prêtre, Yuri Temirkanov, Mstislav Rostropovich, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta, Maxim Vengerov, Krystian Zimerman, Ton Koopman. Nella prossima Stagione ospiterà, tra gli altri: Daniele Gatti, Fabio Luisi, Michele Mariotti, Emmanuel Pahud e Ray Chen.
Alpesh Chauhan, è attualmente Direttore Principale.
Dal 2012 la Filarmonica è partner artistico del Festival Verdi di Parma.
