LABIMA is the Laboratory of Maritime Engineering of Florence University funded in 2011 by Prof. Lorenzo Cappietti. Over 10 PhDs have conducted their reaserches at LABIMA and the team is presently (2024) composed by the director, three post-doc researchers, three PhD students and two technicians.
LABIMA is equipped with different research installations (i.e. wave-current flumes, numerical models and field equipment).
As a university infrastructure, the main activities of LABIMA are focused on teaching, research and technology transfer projects.
