Established in 2002, the Laboratory for Internet Computing (LInC) at University of Cyprus is dedicated to pioneering research and innovation in Internet Computing. Our mission is to generate cutting-edge knowledge and develop practical solutions to address real-world challenges in the continuously developing digital landscape.

With over 20 years of experience, LInC has gathered a wealth of knowledge in Internet Computing and the World Wide Web. LInC is committed to supporting the next generation of scientists.
Over the past 20 years, we have mentored and trained more than 80 researchers at various levels, fostering academic excellence and leadership in the field. Our dedication to scholarly excellence is reflected in our extensive scientific output, encompassing over 200 publications in reputable journals and conferences.
LInC has made significant contributions to the field, including:
- Release of several software tools as open source
- Active involvement in shaping industrial standards in Cloud computing
- Establishment and successful operation of pioneering initiatives such as the first Internet Hotline (SafeWeb) in Cyprus, the national Cyprus Grid Computing facility (CyGrid), and the Grid Certification Authority (Cygrid CA)
Our infrastructure includes:
- Dedicated clusters with over 350 cores and 80 TB of storage
- "Green" data-center testbed with a photovoltaic facility installation
- IoT testbeds comprising sensors, robotic arms, and smart cameras
