Labuan Reinsurance (L) Ltd (Labuan Re) was incorporated in Labuan, Malaysia on September 14th 1992 and writes general reinsurance business for both the Malaysian market as well as Overseas markets.
In 2001, the Company made its entry into the Lloyd’s market and our relationship remain strong over the years. We subsequently incorporated our wholly owned subsidiary, Labuan Reinsurance Underwriting Limited (LRUL), as a Lloyd’s corporate member as we continue to explore opportunities with syndicates that provide strategic value and synergies to our future plans.
To cater for the increasing demand from our takaful clients, in 2006, Labuan Re then decided to write general retakaful businesses through the establishment of a retakaful window. This has provided added value to our clients as we utilise specially drawn-up Shariah compliant wordings.
