La Différence is a social business accelerator that empowers entrepreneurs in Eastern Congo to drive social and economic progress.
We are a social business ourselves, Congolese-led and supported by a network of entrepreneurs in Europe and the US. We offer expertise in management, business design, human-centred design and new technology to help entrepreneurs achieve their economic and social ambitions. We also invest financially in those early-stage businesses that have the potential to deliver social outcomes at scale.
Our advice and investment enables social businesses to navigate the early phases of development and build from the ground upwards until they are ready to engage with impact investors and growth funds.
We have offices in Goma and Bukavu in DRC and in London in the UK. Currently our work focuses on transforming the Kivu region in Congo and we are always open to connecting with potential partners that can help fund our projects and work.
Since starting our work in 2013 we have raised over $600,000 to support 20 businesses through these critical phases of development of which 14 have proven sustainable. In total they are generating the main income for over 5000 families and their products and services have improved daily life for more than 1 million people.
