Posgraduate Course: Hospital Architecture for the 20th Century Oct 2 - Dec 1, 2017 The LA(H)B Laboratorio Arquitectura Hospitalaria Barcelona (Barcelona Healthcare Architecture Laboratory) has created an intensive postgraduate course focused on research into the most innovative ideas emerging in healthcare architecture. This course is structured around a project workshop, which is complemented by theory classes and visits to landmark hospitals. Under the academic direction of Mario Corea, the challenge for each student is to design a medium-complexity hospital. This initiative comes out of Barcelona, a city internationally known for the high quality of its architecture. The widely acclaimed Catalan healthcare model has produced a significant number of specialists in hospital architecture, many of whom lend their expertise to this innovative academic program as course instructors and lecturers. The students also have the opportunity to visit numerous state-of-the-art hospitals and healthcare centers built in Catalonia over the past 25 years. Posgrado: La arquitectura del hospital del siglo XXI 2 de octubre - 1 de diciembre, 2017 El LA(H)B Laboratorio Arquitectura Hospitalaria Barcelona ha creado un posgrado intensivo centrado en la investigación de las ideas más innovadoras que están surgiendo en la arquitectura sanitaria. Este curso es principalmente proyectual apoyado por clases teóricas y visitas a hospitales emblemáticos. Bajo la dirección académica de Mario Corea, cada alumno realizará el diseño de un hospital de mediana complejidad. Esta iniciativa surge en Barcelona, una ciudad internacionalmente reconocida por la calidad de su arquitectura. La amplia experiencia acumulada por el conocido “modelo sanitario catalán” ofrece la posibilidad de contar con un nutrido grupo de profesores especializados en arquitectura sanitaria. A la vez, nos permite visitar un buen numero de hospitales y centros de salud construidos en Cataluña en los últimos 25 años.
