Lajja Foundation is an organisation that encourages discourse on Feminism and Women’s Rights in India and across the world. With a belief that awareness holds the key to change, we hope to contribute to shaping new mindsets.
Over the years, we have initiated various campaigns, tackling key social issues triggered by the deep-rooted patriarchy in our society. We are driven by the conviction that listening to and voicing the stories of women's personal battles is a very important step in the fight for equality.
Some of our on ground programs include ‘The Beti Project’ for educating young girls from school until university completion, ‘Grains Scheme’ for young girls and families below poverty level, ‘TalkOkPeriodPlease’ a menstruation slum outreach program for menstrual hygiene awareness, ‘Second Chance Program’ for skill development of girls/women who want to restart their careers and the ‘Rural girl child education scheme’.
