Lake System

We are Lake System, an indie studio based in Berlin that creates films and narrative video games. The core team are two of us: Artem Moskalev and Sonya Kendel. We've worked on our live-action, documentary, and animation projects for 15 years, from scratch to a ready product. In 2024, we started Lake System to blend our passion for deep, emotional stories with a strong cultural impact — stories that make one laugh, cry, and feel more connected to the world around us. Our focus is strong visuals (that’s Sonya) and solid storytelling (that’s Artem). Right now, we're working on a visual novel about dating in Berlin, an animated feature that will be combined with a video game, a dramatic live-action feature, and a short animated film project. Our vision: Life is short but beautiful in all its diversity, so we aim to create emotional stories that last. We see animation, live-action films, and video games as connected mediums with a story at their core. That’s our Lake System.
