Lakmusz

Lakmusz.hu was launched in January 2022 as part of the Hungarian Digital Media Observatory (HDMO) project, a cross-sectoral anti-disinformation hub uniting researchers and media literacy experts in Hungary, co-funded by the EU. It is published by Magyar Jeti Zrt., one of the few remaining independent media organisations in the country, which also runs the popular news website 444.hu and science-focused qubit.hu. Since its launch, Lakmusz has become the largest anti-disinformation and fact-checking website in Hungary, and among the most popular in Europe, reaching 5,5 million readers and producing over 600 pieces of content, including fact-checks, podcasts, videos and investigative articles. Lakmusz is a verified member of the IFCN (International Fact-Checking Network) and EFCSN (European Fact-checking Standards Network), ensuring high professional and ethical standards.
