Lambach Aircraft

Lambach Aircraft is an aeronautical non-profit-foundation run by students, located at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Delft University of Technology. The main goal is to give students valuable engineering experience through challenging UAV projects. The society believes that the engineers of tomorrow are not just individual calculators with only theoretical knowledge, but that they should be able to solve problems as members of international teams. The organisation was founded on January 19, 1991 with name SSVOBB "Lambach Vliegtuigen", and was at the time dedicated to building aircraft with historic or scientific value. Main objective was for students to apply the knowledge acquired in their engineering degrees to real aircraft design, manufacturing and maintenance. During the first 10 years of the history of the society, the students organised the building of the Lambach HL II aircraft. In the original name, SSVOBB is the acronym for Stichting Studenten Vliegtuigontwikkeling, -bouw en -beheer which is Dutch for Foundation for Students in Airplane development, manufacturing and management.
