Our Mission: To be the trusted advocate for physicians in the state of Louisiana.
The Louisiana State Medical Society is a voluntary association of physicians providing leadership for the advancement of the health of the people of Louisiana and serving as the premier advocate for physicians. The LSMS is dedicated to support the physicians of Louisiana in continually improving the provision of quality health care for its citizens by:
• Advocating: we work with local, state and federal elected officials to promote legislation which preserves the rights of physicians to practice medicine, while maintaining high standards of care.
• Educating: we provide the necessary information to allow members to meet continuing educational needs, stay ahead of current trends, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their practices.;
• Communicating: we plan, execute and market the LSMS brand messages to attract, create and retain member relationships.
Collaborating: we work with members, hospitals, governmental officials and other stakeholders in order to provide the highest quality health care to the people of Louisiana.
