As principal of Lamplight Education, Claire Goldsmith splits her time between long-term strategic planning engagements and high-touch presentations/workshops. Strategic planning clients include Para Los Niños (Los Angeles social services and education non-profit); Bay Area BlendEd Consortium (independent school online learning consortium). Bespoke AI, online learning, and innovation presentations for groups such as Common Sense Media, independent school boards of trustees, WSJ TechLive. About Claire: Claire is a consultant and advisor in educational innovation and strategic planning across schools, non-profits, and tech. After teaching English and French and coaching debate at Harvard-Westlake in Los Angeles, she ran admissions and external relations at Stanford Online High School. While there, she helped to develop a national online learning consortium, the Malone Schools Online Network, of which she was Executive Director from 2016-2022 and trained teachers across the globe on online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to her consulting work, Claire serves on boards and advisory councils for a range of educational institutions and is Chair of the Enrollment Management Association, a non-profit membership association that offers assessment and application products. Claire graduated from Harvard College with a degree in History and Literature, and from the Stanford Graduate School of Education with a master's degree in policy, organization, and leadership studies. Her writing on artificial intelligence in education and smartphone policies has appeared recently in The Wall Street Journal.
