Lanark County Community Justice

Lanark County Community Justice company information, Employees & Contact Information

Lanark County Community Justice strives to foster a community that embraces restorative practices to repair harm, build community and strengthen relationships. For the past 20 years Lanark County Community Justice has brought people together to repair the harm from conflict and crime in our community with restorative justice practices and our Community Justice Court Diversion Program. We work with the police and the Crown Attorney’s office, to facilitate meetings between the accused person and those who have been affected to bring about healing in our community. This process allows the accused to take responsibility for their actions and also gives the complainant (victim) and the community the opportunity to explain how the incident affected them and be part of deciding what is needed to repair the harm. We have over 40 dedicated and trained volunteers and three part-time staff people. Our program’s major source of funding is the Ministry of Children Community and Social Services, who fund a portion of our youth cases. We also provide a Restorative Families Program and a Family Reconnect Program that are generously funded by the Perth and District Community Foundation and the County of Lanark. In addition, we are proud to be a United Way (East Region) Partner Agency. Fundraising makes up the balance (approximately 35%), needed to meet our annual budget.
