Lanica was founded in June 2012 by Carlos Icaza (former co-founder/CEO of Ansca Mobile, makers of the Corona SDK), Kota Iguchi (former CEO of Infosia, makers of the successful Emo-Framework game engine), Bruno Fonzi (founder of CODAME ART+TECH and former executive at PLAYSTUDIOS), and Doug Benson (former Sr. Director of Product Development at Adobe Systems).
Lanica is funded by Appcelerator and is being hosted out of their main headquarters in Mountain View, California. To date, Appcelerator users have used the Titanium toolkit to launch over 50,000 apps, including ones made for world-class brands like NBC Universal, ZipCar, LEGOLAND, eBay, and others.
