La Selva - Creative Ecosystem

La Selva Ecosistema Creatiu is a not-for-profit cooperative film production company founded in Barcelona in 2018. By a group of Ibero-American filmmakers specialized in independent auteur cinema with a mixed experience over ten years. Our objective is to produce independent auteur cinema that allows the creation of other narratives, from perspectives little explored or common in cinema, with feminist, decolonial and anti-racist visions. Besides film production we also focus our activities in creative workshops for young talents having attended filmmakers of more than 26 nationalities worldwide. On past editions of our workshops, we offered as tutors’ personalities such as the Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel (2019) or the German Werner Herzog (2021) where several short films in international co-production were generated. Besides the program for filmmakers, we also create training programs for groups at risk of exclusion and in 2020 we have offered initial training to the world of cinema for migrant teenagers under guardianship in Spain, enabling them to tell their stories through images in movement, the result was a trilogy of short films that told the story of migrant female teenagers in Spain.
