About LASHIP - Laboratory of Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
LASHIP – Laboratory of Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems has a structure focused on attending university activities of education, research and services. LASHIP’s team is involved with undergraduate education since 1977 and graduate education and research on hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems since 1984. The research funds are from government projects and partnerships with industries. Besides the infrastructure of equipment and facilities, it is established a group made by 3 professors and about 15 people among research engineers and graduate and undergraduate students connected through institutional projects and industry. In the academic sector, LASHIP has been working on joint researches with the PTMC – The Centre for Fluid Power and Motion Control (University of Bath – UK), IFAS – Institute for Fluid Power Drives and Control (RWTH Aachen University – Germany), and FLUMES – Division of Fluid and Mechatronic Systems (Linköping University – Sweden). LASHIP also participates, by UFSC, as partner of CISB – Swedish-Brazilian Research and Innovation Centre. The integration of LASHIP with the industrial sector is evidenced by research activities carried out directly with industries or in projects co-sponsored by development agencies as FINEP, PADCT, CT-Petro, RHAE, CT-Energy and CNPq. Additionally, consulting services are provided to solve more immediate problems. LASHIP is a member of NFPA – National Fluid Power Association – USA, being the first non-North American education institution affiliated. It is included in the Directory of Research Groups of Brazil being recognized by the international community as a reference in Latin America in hydraulics and pneumatics. By means of its members, LASHIP participates of the Fluid Power Net International, a worldwide community for networking in the area of fluid power and fluid techniques, and of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers – Fluid Power Systems & Technology Division.
