LASUMEGA

Conceptualized in 2009, the Lagos State University Muslim Engineering Graduates Association earned its name through consultative efforts between Muslim students and alumnus in 2011. After two successive transition administrations (in 2013 and 2017), the Association adopted its first set of legal frameworks (Constitution, Governance Manual and Electoral Regulations) at a Special General Meeting (SGM) held on the 17th December 2017. As established under the Constitution, the following are organs of the Association: General Members’ Assembly The Governing Council Board of Trustees Hence, a Consultative (Shurah) Committee, also adopted at the same SGM, got its first mandate to: Call for nominations from Members into offices of the Governing Council of LASUMEGA. Present a substantive Governing Council for the Association, in a manner that complies with the adopted Electoral Regulations. Consequently, in an event that marked full circle in the history of LASUMEGA, from the transition to substantive administration, the Shurah Committee after concluding its first task, presented to the Membership of the Association its pioneer Governing Council.
