LASUMSA Senate

The LASUMSA Senate is the lawmaking arm of the Lagos State University Medical Students Association (LASUMSA). An association that is made up of medical students of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM). The body is saddled with legislative responsibilities which cut across oversight functions, policy formulation and management of it implementation, upholding the guidebook of the association which is the constitution and working in tandem with the Executive council in presiding over the affairs of the about 400 members of the association. At the echelon of the body's affairs are the functionaries of the Senate which comprises the Speaker ,Deputy Speaker,Scribe and Whip alongside other members of the parliament who are regarded to as "Honourables". Our mission is to promote and preserve the values and ideals of our association using our sacred mandate as custodians of the constitution to deliver an open, inclusive and effective legislative leadership to our members, leveraging on their creativity and pioneering appeal in contributing to the development of Lagos State, Nigeria and beyond.
