AMÄI Feeding for Development Foundation

In a context where the complex humanitarian crisis in Venezuela has reached alarming magnitudes and has affected the quality of life of the entire population. Among the victims, there is a group in society that has been disproportionately affected by their situation and the difficult decision to migrate: women. GENDER INEQUALITY + HUMANITARIAN CRISIS = Women are more financially, politically and socially vulnerable. The organization was born from the history of Venezuelan women, who in a region highlighted by inequalities, have demonstrated the ability to work for mothers who do not have the resources to feed their children who suffer from childhood malnutrition. AMAI means MOTHER in the Pemón indigenous language. Paying tribute to our roots, we work for the empowerment and transformation of women, who play essential roles in society. We seek that they gain access to job opportunities and that they may have the opportunity to improve the nutritional status of their families.
