Gegründet wurde die LAVEBA Genossenschaft 1899 als «Landwirtschaftliche Gesellschaft des Kantons St. Gallen». Ihr Ziel war es, die Mitglieder der landwirtschaftlichen Genossenschaften im Kanton und den angrenzenden Gebieten zu unterstützen – mit gebündelten Leistungen für Einkauf und Vermarktung. Über mehr als ein Jahrhundert lang entwickelte sich das Unternehmen zu einem festen Bestandteil der Ostschweizer (Land-) Wirtschaft. Heute ist es ein stark verankertes, dynamisches Handels- und Dienstleistungsunternehmen. 2013 organsierte sich der LV-St. Gallen neu als Konzern, 2019 wurde die Strategie grundlegend überprüft und modern ausgerichtet. Mit der Namensänderung zu LAVEBA Genossenschaft und einer umfassenden Revision von Organisation und Struktur stellen wir uns den künftigen Herausforderungen.
So versteht sich LAVEBA nicht mehr nur als Einkaufs-, Verkaufs und Vermarktungsorganisation, sondern vielmehr als Dienstleister, Berater und Partner, der für seine Mitglieder, die Agrarwirtschaft und Konsumenten mit einem breiten Portfolio an Angeboten und Leistungen da ist.
