Nationwide team of Legal Aid lawyers fighting for fairness in housing, education, community care & immigration. UK’s largest provider of housing Legal Aid. Established in 2018, Lawstop brings together a group of lawyers with several years of combined legal expertise, committed to social justice. 🔴 What we do: We take and win challenging Legal Aid cases to represent and fight for people who are not treated fairly or lawfully. Since 2018 we've helped thousands of people receive the protection, services and opportunities that the law demands. • It might be a problem with an irresponsible landlord or housing trust. • Or a council or education authority failing in their duty to meet special needs. • Or presenting the strongest case at an asylum hearing on behalf of a client fearing for their life. 🔴 Who we do it for: Our clients include individuals with complex mental and physical health needs, homelessness, vulnerabilities, SEND needs, and the elderly. We also advocate for individuals under community care, requesting assessments under the Care Act and Children's Act, advising on level of support and care for mental health and substance abuse issues, and working with mental capacity issues, best interest and Court of Protection. In most cases, our fees are paid by Legal Aid, but we also represent self-pay clients. 🔴 Our team: Our team reflects the communities and citizens we serve, with a proud mix of ages, ethnic backgrounds, genders and life experiences. We offer equal opportunities regardless of race, origin, sexuality, age or disability. We’re also unstuffy, straightforward and socially-driven. Please get in touch with any questions, issues or queries - our DMs are open!
