LEAD EDUCATION FOUNDATION

I have been involved with the TVET sector for more than four decades. I worked with UNICEF for about two decades (1990-2006). After completing my job with UNICEF, I engaged myself to establish Dhaka Central Polytechnic Institute (DCPI) in 2006 with a few of my TVET professional friends. DCPI is affiliated with Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). DCPI has been contributing to the TVET sector since inception. The DCPI is run by Lead Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organization. I am working as the Executive Director of DCPI and contributing to: Develop Business Plan in consultation with private organizations, public training institutes, associations for training/skills development. Develop strategy to improve quality and relevance throughout the TVET system to ensure that TVET graduates get gainful employment following training. Support in development of competency standards, learning materials and assessment tools and assist training providers how to implement them. Develop quality assurance checklist and assessment template for assessing training outcomes. Ensure training delivery methods are flexible and quality assured as per needs to fulfill industry demands. Market demand analysis, tracer studies and monitoring and evaluation. Develop a strategy to enhance TVET system management, pedagogy, and certification. Support to develop strategy, Module and implement Soft Skills in the project. Develop and implement a strategy for entrepreneurship, career counseling and guidance which link training provision with jobs and career development opportunities in priority sectors. I worked as curriculum expert for Development of Curricula of Dhaka Technical Teachers’ Training Institute (DTTTI), a project of Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) under the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment (MoEWOE) funded by IsDB under Center for Occupational Research and Education (CORE), a TVET Research organization.
