About Learning Engineering Virtual Institute

The Learning Engineering Virtual Institute (or LEVI, pronounced /LEH-vee/) seeks to spur deep collaboration across institutions and disciplines to drastically improve math outcomes in middle school grades. LEVI currently includes seven teams working on AI-driven edtech tools that are reaching learners from Washington state to Rwanda. These tools range from an AI-powered chatbot that provides personalized math tutoring to generative video technology that digitally replicates the experience of having a personal tutoring session. LEVI seeks to develop, scale and implement these interventions in order to double the rate of math progress in middle school, especially for low-income students, over the next five years.
