Legacy Initiative Overview
The Legacy Initiative was founded by two first-generation college graduates who saw the need for financial literacy amongst teens, young adults, and low-income families. The vision of the Legacy Initiative is to provide New York City Public High School students and marginalized communities with the tools and financial acumen to contribute to their future generations. With Mike Barber's twenty years of experience as a retail financial advisor and Deidre Sears' over ten years of experience in secondary/higher education and the non-profit sector, the founders of The Legacy Initiative have collectively committed their work and passion for assisting countless families and under-served youth in achieving their goals of advancement.
