In June 2020, following financial difficulties, Babyloan was acquired by Lendahand. Based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Lendahand is also a crowdfunding platform with a mission to fight poverty in emerging countries by investing in people and businesses.
Founded in 2013, Lendahand has facilitated over 130 million euros of positive impact investments in businesses from around thirty emerging countries, with more than 2,900 projects funded. Lendahand was awarded the prestigious IEX Golden Bull prize for "Best Crowdfunding Platform of the Year" in the Netherlands in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
Our primary mission is to contribute to the eradication of poverty worldwide.
Businesses and entrepreneurs in emerging countries have the capacity to generate significant economic, social, and environmental impact in their communities. These SMEs locally create between 70% and 95% of new job opportunities.
Their main challenge lies in accessing financing. The interest rates they can borrow at locally (including from banks) can exceed 50%.
Therefore, our purpose is to invite European savers to invest in their projects, thus facilitating their access to financing at reasonable rates.
