Lentara Unitingcare company information, Employees & Contact Information

Lentara UnitingCare is an agency of the Uniting Church in Australia, serving the people of the North and West of Melbourne. UnitingCare Sunshine and Broadmeadows originally evolved from two Missions which had their roots in the former Methodist Church: Broadmeadows Parish Mission and Sunshine Parish Mission. Orana UnitingCare in Meadow Heights, a community service agency of the Uniting Church, was founded in 1888 as the Central Dorcas Help and Rescue Society, part of the Wesleyan Home Missions in Victoria. In 2012 the two agencies joined to form Lentara UnitingCare. The Uniting Church established the Hotham Mission Asylum Seeker Project (ASP) in 1997 to help asylum seekers who faced destitution while living lawfully in the community and awaiting an outcome on their refugee claim. In 2013 the ASP was transferred to Lentara UnitingCare. At Lentara UnitingCare we: - affirm cultural diversity - show compassion for the vulnerable - encourage people to value and use their strengths - advocate on behalf of those who are disadvantaged - challenge inequity and injustice and work for social change. We support some of the most vulnerable people to access the resources they need for health, wellbeing and participation in the community. The services of Lentara UnitingCare are provided to all people irrespective of cultural background, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion or disability.
